Day 1 (25th January 2011) 

Three plastic boxes were filled with materials and tools.

Making simple helicopters ”Taketombo”

Using carbonated drink bottles, participants made propellers.

Coffee break

Made very simple rubber band helicopters.

Straw models; regular tetra-, octa-, icosahedrons.

Cutting straws to make wing cars.

Installing a rear tire of her wind car.

Day 2 (26th January 2011)

Connecting straws to make straw kite skeletons.

Sellotaping a wing sheet on the skeleton.

Group activity presentation; ”How to design the best helicopter”.

Competition of the helicopter.

Observing onion epidermis through a water lens microscope.

Group work; Simple air pressure rocket.

After the closing ceremony, we launched the rockets.
