STRAW ROCKET

Stabiliser fins

Print out stabiliser fin images using ordinary A4 office paper.

Take a piece of stabiliser fin set and fold along V lines and M lines.

V lines are representing valley folds and M lines are representing mountain folds. (1)

Cut the fin set along solid lines. (2)

Turn the fin set and apply small amount of glue stick to the area indicated by the ovals. (3)

Apply glue stick to the grey colour area. (4)

The fin set is ready. (5)

Rocket body

You need a good straw 5 - 5.5 mm in diameter. (A)

Using an approximately 7 mm tall, 6.0 - 6.5 mm in diameter rubber cylinder, close one of the ends of the straw. (B)  This end becomes the rocket nose.

Apply 2 cm long double-sided sticky tape strip at the opposite end of the straw. (B)

Remove the sticker release paper (white paper).

Insert the rocket nose into the fin set.  Gently shift the fin set to cover the sticky tape and then press the rectangular parts of the fin set to fix it to the rocket body. (C)

Launcher

You need a flexible straw 4.5 mm in diameter.  It has a short arm, a flexible part and a long arm.

Apply 4 cm insulation tape strip to the thin straw like the photo above.

Insert the long arm of the straw into the rocket tail.

Make the rocket tail and insulation part airtight.

Blow through the short arm end of the launcher to shoot the rocket.
